History of Hatcliffe-Extention
In November 1993 people were evicted from Chulu Farm to Hatcliffe-Holding-Camp. 12 years later they were affected by operation „Murambatsvina“ in May 2005 (displacement of about 15.000 people to Calidonia-Camp in trust). In July 2005 people were relocated to Hatcliffe-Extention, where they stay until today.
Now it is assumed that there are about 20.000 living in Hatcliffe-Extention. Most of the stands are still plastic-shacks and 75% of the people are unemployed.
There are 3.800 households of which are comprised of stands measuring 10m x 20m.
